Objective:
To develop an Excel-based dashboard for football performance analysts, enabling them to conduct quick and detailed player and club analysis, especially in scenarios where access to large systems is limited.

Background:
A senior performance analyst, who was also an advisor on our MSc course, approached us with the need for an Excel-based dashboard tailored for FA teams. The goal was to create a tool that could facilitate quick analysis of player performance, club DNA, and ultimately assist in player recruitment decisions. Given the constraints of system accessibility, the tool had to be lightweight, offline-capable, and easy to use.

Challenge:
The key challenges in this project were:

• Developing an in-depth performance analysis tool that was highly detailed yet user-friendly.
• Creating a recruitment and scouting feature to identify potential players for clubs.
• Designing the dashboard to be intuitive for users with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Ensuring the tool functioned efficiently without requiring an internet connection.
• Providing a seamless and fast data-processing experience.

Solution Implemented:
To address these challenges, I designed and developed a comprehensive Excel-based dashboard with the following features:

• Player Performance Dashboard: A detailed view of player statistics, performance metrics, and KPIs to assess strengths and weaknesses.
• Club Performance Analysis: Insights into club DNA, performance trends, and team strengths, aiding in strategic decision-making.
• Recruitment & Scouting Tool: A feature that allowed teams to filter and shortlist potential player recruits from other clubs within seconds.
• Interactive & Filterable Dashboards: Customizable views with search and filter options, making it easy to find relevant data quickly.
• Color-Coded Visuals: Designed for easy interpretation, even for coaches and staff with limited technical knowledge.
• Offline Functionality: The tool worked seamlessly without an internet connection, making it accessible on computers and mobile devices.
• Automated Data Processing: Users simply uploaded or updated raw data in the spreadsheet, and the dashboard instantly generated insights.

Outcome:
The implementation of this Excel-based recruitment and analysis tool provided FA teams with a powerful, flexible, and accessible solution for football performance evaluation and scouting. Key benefits included:
